Volunteering and Donating is the most selfless thing a person can do but sometimes when time is an issue, donating is the option they choose. That’s not a bad thing because it does help save on resources and it is going toward a cause you’re either passionate about or a cause that is helping a group of other people. It’s a good way to show the power of giving is more rewarding than the power of getting, not to mention it leaves an effective impression on your children. The good news is there are a lot of charities out there for you to consider, both Connecticut based and nation based. That is also the bad news because it can also make the choices that much harder.
While that may be true, sometimes finding the right charity to donate to can be quite the task when it comes to searching. Not surprisingly, this can lead to impatience and some frustrations, which may make you want to give up the search before you really even start. Not while I don’t recommend you use this article as your sole source, I will provide you with a few options you can consider. These will be Connecticut based but you don’t only have to donate to Connecticut based charities.
Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut & Massachusetts: The Ronald McDonald house serves as a home away from home for families and children receiving care at hospitals nearby. It also funds a scholar program and a grant program to help families of sick children who are receiving care. This organization is a great option to donate to and your donations would help fund their programs and cause.
Catholic Charities of Fairfield County: This charity strives provides programs to help several programs and your donations would help all or either one of these programs. Between helping the hunger to supporting the elders, to providing safe care for children, and much more, there are many helpful causes this organization fights for. You can choose between a few options of how much you want to donate but rest assured, your donation is for a better cause.
- North Carolina – Best Schools
- Assistance for Single Mothers in Massachusetts
- Low Income Housing Assistance in Delaware
- Low Income Housing Assistance in Ohio
- Colorado – Child Care Assistance for Single Mothers
- Learning Support For Single Mothers
- Georgia – Shelters
- Illinois – Employment
- Massachusetts – Medical Help
- Illinois Financial aid programs to single mothers
Mary’s Place: Connecticut: Mary’s place provides a safe place for children of all ages and families who are grieving or mourning the loss of a loved one. People can come here for support and share their experiences, and find comfort. Donating to this cause helps support this non-profit organization and their cause, and attempt at making it a little easier for families to cope with a loss.
Connecticut Humane Society: This is the humane society and this would be a good option for those who are animal lovers in general. Humane Societies are basically like shelters for animals and your donations to these types of causes would help pay for food, water, animal care, the costs of sheltering the pets, as well as any other costs that might not have been mentioned.
Connecticut Food Bank: Now this was an option that was good for volunteering but it’s also a good cause to donate to. The main purpose of the food banks are to fight against hunger whether a person is homeless or just lower income. Donating to this cause helps pay for food and provide for those less fortunate than ourselves.
There are many state-wide and nationwide charities you can donate to, and all you have to do is search for them. You can check around the internet or with your community offline and see if anyone has suggestions for you as well. There are also websites that will also search for charities in your area and there are also sites that you can use to search for an organization by its name. So you see, there are options for you and as long as you search for them, you should have no problem finding options that fit your wants.
